Our Learning Program

Bright Beginnings of South Park is committed to providing premium quality learning experiences for children.  Valuable learning takes place through play, and we also offer a structured learning program for all ages.  All activities are purposefully designed to expand the child’s world and encourage cognitive and intellectual development.  

Themes

Unit themes are developed on topics children will enjoy and find relatable while learning simple and complex skills developmentally appropriate to them. All activities are purposefully designed to expand the child’s world and encourage cognitive and intellectual development. 

We utilize the Teaching Strategies software for lesson plan development, ensuring developmentally appropriate activities, assessments, portfolios, etc. 

We limit television and other electronics in the center because we focus on interaction and learning through hands-on experiences. The preschool will occasionally have a special movie day or watch a video pertaining to the educational theme.

Assessments

Because each child grows and develops differently, it is important that we do assessments throughout the year. These assessments will help us to individualize your child’s learning process.  

We are state required to issue an ASQ after a child has been enrolled for 45 days. Then we assess utilizing Teaching Strategies Gold twice per year. In the Preschool and Pre-K classrooms general assessments are given periodically to check in with Kindergarten readiness. 

Our Daily Program for all Ages

All of our classrooms offer outside time in a space best suited for their age. We also offer breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack for all classes toddlers and up. Parents may still pack their own food if they wish. We also have nap time for all classes.
